'What if...' altered food can + VIDEO tutorial for Finnabair

Hello my dearest friends,

It is so good to be back to you !
I know that it's been a while since my last video tutorial for Finnabair Creative Team :) and some of you were asking me to create a new one, so here it is !

Today's project was inspired by super talented Janka. A couple of months ago she created an altered piece for Mixed Media Place. I loved it so much that it stayed in my head till now.

I decided that I have to use her idea of altering an unwanted food can. ;)
It was challening for me but I enjoyed it a lot.

To create this fantastic texture heaven I used Finnabair brand new Snowflake Paste.
And let me tell you, this is a wonderful medium to achieve rusty and corroded texture for your projects. All you need to do is add some colour !

To colour the sides of the can I used a mix of different Mica Powders from Finnabair.

Additionally, I used some autumn goodies - wild roses. I dried them a little before painting. :)

As my title I stamped some words from Finnabair's stamp sets.
My main focus is a girl cut out from Ephemera - Vintage Collectibles.

I hope you will enjoy my video. Be sure to share your creations if this project will inspire you to make some art ! I hope to hear from you :)

Hugs, Marta xx

Goodbye Blue Fern Studios - 2 project & VIDEO

Hello everyone,

I am back to you with my last projects created for Blue Fern Studios. It's time to say goodbye...

I had such a great time being Video Educator for Blue Fern Studios. Wonderful products with great quality and original designs.
I will miss my team mates and all of you great followers.

I hope you will enjoy my two last layouts and grab some inspiration for yourself.

My first make is a mixed media based page. I love Autumn Anthology paper collection. It's beautiful, romantic and sophisticated!

I used mediums to add texture and colour to my background.

Another great way to add interest to your page is to stamp. Blue Fern has a wonderful selection of stamp sets.

As you can see I embossed my chipboards using white embossing powder.
You can follow whole creative process on my video tutorial. Enjoy !

My second project for today is clean and simple page.
I used paper from Autumn Anthology collection called 'Le Ballon'.

To add some interest to my background I added some splashes with sprays and stamping.

Chipboards were embossed with black embossing powder. I like the contrast created by adding black colour. Title 'Happy' stands out greatly.

I wish to thank for having me as part of Blue Fern family :) !
It was my great plasure.

Hugs, Marta :)

I love trying out new techniques and art materials in my journals. This is a great way to experiment and simply enjoy the process.
Now I am testing PaperArtsy FrescoFinish paints. Do you know them ??? :)

Spread Your Wings Academy vol.5

Hi everyone,
Breaking blank page is one of the biggest problem of every creative person. How to start ?
Common question asked by everyone.
My answer :) STICK SOMETHING !
It can be anything... Today I will show you three random examples but there is more than this !

1. MASKING TAPE

2. BOOKS PAGES

3. LEFTOVERS FROM CRAFT PAPER

Simple isn't it ? My next step would be to add some white gesso to blend in my paper elements.
And then ? Simply add some colour... your basic background is ready !

You will find few more ideas on Finnabair blog ! Check them out here !

Tear some paper and have fun !
Hugs, Marta xx
